We specialize in professional evaluation for medical cannabis.
Our Nurse Practitioner is board certified and registered with the Virginia Board of Pharmacy to issue medical certifications for the use of cannabis products. We offer both initial certification evaluations and re-certification evaluations. Discounts are available for first responders, healthcare workers, veterans, and teachers.
What medical conditions qualify for medical cannabis?
There are numerous medical conditions and diseases that qualify patients for medical cannabis use. In the Commonwealth of Virginia, any diagnosed condition or disease that is determined by the practitioner to benefit from medical cannabis use will qualify.
Is medical cannabis legal in the Commonwealth of Virginia?
Yes. On March 9, 2018, Virginia Governor Ralph Northam signed into legislation an expansion of the comprehensive medical cannabis law. On July 1, 2020, the possession of medical cannabis products by those who are registered with the state’s program were provided statutory legal protection

Moreau Medical Certification Services
Initial Certification $125
This is for new patient evaluations. No referral is required. Our Nurse Practitioner will meet with you via telehealth, review your medical history, and determine your eligibility for medical cannabis. She will also provide additional education regarding medical cannabis and your specific medical needs.
This appointment is typically 30 minutes, and we ask that you complete intake forms an hour before your appointment.
Initial Certification $100
First Responders, Healthcare Workers, Veterans, Teachers
This is for new patient evaluations for those that are first responders, healthcare workers, veterans, and teachers. No referral is required. Our Nurse Practitioner will meet with you via telehealth, review your medical history, and determine your eligibility for medical cannabis. She will also provide additional education regarding medical cannabis and your specific medical needs.
This appointment is typically 30 minutes, and we ask that you complete intake forms an hour before your appointment.
Annual Recertification $50
Returning and New Patients
This is for returning and new patients who need their annual recertification. Our Nurse Practitioner will meet with you via telehealth, review your medical history, and determine your eligibility for renewal of your medial certification. Medical certifications for the use of cannabis products are required to be recertified every year. ***If your medical certification is expired, you will need to schedule a “Initial Certification." We are unable to recertify expired medical certifications.***
The appointment is typically 15 minutes, and we ask that you complete intake forms an hour before your appointment.
Our Practitioner
Courtney Moreau, FNP-BC graduated from Northern Virginia Community College in 2009 with her Associates Degree in Nursing. She began her career with pediatrics and worked in the Pediatric Cardiac Intensive Care Unit at Children’s National Medical Center. Courtney followed her passion for emergency medicine and transitioned to working as an emergency room nurse while completing her Nurse Practitioner. Courtney graduated from Walden University in 2016 and is board certified through the American Nurses Credential Center (ANCC).
Courtney lives with a chronic illness and understands the importance of having access to a wide range of treatments including alternative based options such as medical cannabis.
“I believe that there is no such thing as an award for suffering and issues such as chronic pain, mental health issues, and chronic illness can negatively impact our quality of life. One of my passions is helping alleviate the suffering of those in need.”
